Send it on Analysis. (Poem I found at home)

"Send it On" By Disney Channel Stars.
A word's just a word
'Til you mean what you say
And Love isn't love
'Til you give it away
We've all gotta give
Yeah something to give to make a change

Send it on
On and on
Just one hand can heal another
Be a part
Reach a Heart
Just one spark starts a fire
With one little action
The chain reaction will never stop
Make it Strong
Shine a Light and Send It On

Just smile and the world will smile along with you
That small act of love
Is spent for one will become two
If we take the chances
To change circumstances
Imagine all we can do
If we...

Send it on
On and on
Just one hand can heal another
Be a part
Reach a Heart
Just one spark starts a fire
With one little action
The chain reaction will never stop
Make it Strong
Shine a Light and Send It On
Send it on
Oh Send it on

There's Power in all of the choices we make
So I'm starting now there's not a moment to waste.
A word's just a word
'Til you mean what you say
And love is not love
'Til you give it away!

Send it on!
On and on!
Just one hand can heal another!
Be a part!
Reach a Heart!
Just one spark starts a fire!
With one little action!
The chain reaction will never stop!
Make it Strong
Shine a Light and Send It On

On and on
Just one hand can heal another
Be a part
Reach a Heart
Just one spark starts a fire
With one little action
The chain reaction will help things start
Make it Strong
Shine a Light and Send It On
Shine a Light and Send It On
Shine a Light and Send It On

The title of the poem is Send it On and it is by the Disney Channel Stars, The Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus, the form of this poem is and song/Ode.
The Poem is about trying to help influence kids to help out to make a better life, and how one little thing can have a big impact.
The message that the composers are sending is that you should help out, in school, with you parents, or even the environment. Something that will benefit the world, because it is good, and even though you could make such a small gesture it will have a big impact in the future.
The tone in the Poem is generosity, and compassion, for the people around you, and the earth and all it has to offer, and that you should give back to the earth because of all the good things it supplied you with.
The language techniques used in this poem are repartition, because this is a song, it has a chorus and that is repeated 3 times, also there in the title of the song "Send it On" which is repeated 10 times throughout the song. Another language technique is Metaphor because the line "Just one hand can heal another" it means doing something small can help fix something much bigger.
My Personal Opinion about this song/ode, is that it is really enjoyable, I think it sends a strong message, and I think that it is coming from the right people to send it, because kids, if influenced the right way will help out, and because the Disney stars performed/composed this song, it will help children be more considerate of the earth, and environment.

The Fog Analysis

"The Fog" By F.R. McCreary.
Slowly the fog,
Hunched-shouldered with a grey face,
Arms wide, advances,
Finger-tips touching the way
Past the dark houses
And dark gardens of roses.
Up the short street from the harbour,
Slowly the fog,
Arms wide, shoulders hunched,
Searching, searching,
Out through the streets to the fields,
Slowly the Fog -
A blind man hunting the moon.

The title of the poem is "The Fog" it is by F.R. McCreary, the poem does not rhyme, but it has a lot of repetition and personification.
The poem is about the 'fog' being described as a man, using personification, he is a evil person, someone who you would normally be afraid of or creped out by.
The message of the poem is that 'The Fog' is dark and evil, and you should be scared or afraid of it.
The tone of the poem is scared and frightened because you are scared of what the 'fog' is being described as.
A language technique used was personification for example, "Hunched-shouldered with a grey face" the composer is describing the 'fog' as an old man, and old man qualities.
I really enjoyed the poem because it was dark, mystical and keeps you guessing, and the way the composer used personification was very convincing.

Caught in the Crowd Analysis.

"Caught in the Crowd" By Kate Miller Heidke
There was a guy at my school when I was in high school
We'd ride side by side in the morning on our bicycles
Never even spoken or faced each other
But on the last hill we'd race each other

When we reached the racks, we'd each go our own way
I wasn't in his classes, I didn't know his name
When we finally got to speak, he just stared at his feet
And mumbled a sentence that ended with James

I was young and caught in the crowd
I didn't know then what I know now
I was dumb and I was proud and I'm sorry

If I could go back, do it again
I'd be someone you could call friend
Please, please believe that I'm sorry

Well, he was quite a big guy, kinda shy and quiet
When the kids called him weird, he didn't try to deny it
Every lunchtime he'd spend walking by himself
'Round the boundary of the grounds 'til he heard the bell

Well, one day I found him, joined him on his walk
We were silent for a while until we started to talk
I told him my family were fighting in court
He said his step-dad and him always fought

We talked about music, he was into punk
Told me all the bands that I liked were junk
I said I'd never heard the songs the Sex Pistols sang
I laughed back at him and then the bell rang

I was young and caught in the crowd
I didn't know then what I know now
I was dumb and I was proud and I'm sorry

If I could go back, do it again
I'd be someone you could call friend
Please, please believe that I'm sorry

It was after school in the afternoon
The corridors were crowded as we came out of the rooms
Three guys I knew pushed him into the cement
Threw away his bag and said he had no friends

He yelled that he did and he looked around
Tried getting up but they pushed him on down
That's when he saw me, called out my name
And I turned my back and just walked away
Yeah, I turned my back and just walked away

I was young and caught in the crowd
I didn't know then what I know now
I was dumb and I was proud and I'm sorry

If I could go back, do it again
I'd be someone you could call friend
Please, please believe that I'm sorry
Please, please believe that I'm sorry

The title of this Poem is "Caught In The Crowd" by Kate Miller Heidke and the form is a Ballad.
It is about being a type of person everyone likes and becoming so much like that, that you betray your friends.
The message is that you should never try to fit in so much that you betray your friends because that is what everyone thinks is cool.
The tone of the poem is guilt and regret because she feels guilty for what she did and she also regrets it
The language techniques that the composer uses are repetition, because she repeats a verse in the song 3 times, this is called the chorus, also she used a metaphor "I was young I was caught in the crowd", that is the metaphor and it means trying to fit in and be like everyone else.
My personal Opinion of the poem is that it is a good and entertaining, it creates a good story in you head and she explains the situation and why she is sorry in great detail.
